The DEBKAfile information of 21 Aug. 2013 is now being confirmed: Le Figaro 23 Aug. 2013:

Le-Figaro

The text goes: “Syria: The Anti-Assad Operation Has Begun. Acc. to our informants, oppositionals to the (Syrian)  regime, received into Jordanian, Israeli and American commandos are progressing towards Damascus in mid August. This offensive could explain the Syrian president´s possible  recourse to chemical weapons.”

The President of the actual U.S. Department of State, the Council on Foreign Relations, Richard Haas, already holds Assad guilty of a gas attack in Syria - as does the British government - and wants to attack Syria with cruise missiles. The  US is weighing methods to attack Syria.
Strangely, neither has it been shown that a gas attack did take place, nor that a possible attack was performed  by Assad’s troops.

The Daily Mail 29. Januar 2013 brought an article that was deleted a few days later.
It stated: “Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad’s regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country.
A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme ‘approved by Washington’ is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons.”

Reuters 23 Aug. 2013 U.S. and allied intelligence agencies’ have made a preliminary assessment that chemical weapons were used by Syrian forces in an attack near Damascus this week, likely with high-level approval from the government of President Bashar al-Assad, according to American and European security sources. This increases  pressure on Pres. Obama. A No Fly Zone is not to be expected, acc. to a spokesman.
