LATEST: Time World 18 June 2013: Russia’s foreign minister says Iran is willing to halt its 20-percent enrichment of uranium, not quoting his source. He calls for sanctions to be lifted after this sensational development!
Yesterday Rowhani said Iran would not halt uranium enrichment. This would not necessarily mean any drawdown in enrichment capabilities; the labs could concentrate on lower-grade fuel. abcnews 18 June confirms as does  DEBKafile 18 June 2013, too.
Comment: Iran must feel extraordinarily threatened right now. Why?

For the past 5-6 years the dispute on Iran´s nuclear program has been going on with threats of military attacks and sanctions led by the US: Time and again, there have “certain” rumours that Iran would be attacked shortly - e.g. here. But it never happened, because the powers that be did not yet find the time ripe for the conclusion of their disgusting play with the globe (see Albert Pike WWIII). Now another dangerous development is taking place: The US Congress has been forced by the US-Israel Lobby -in particular  the  AIPAC and here- which rules the US Congress and the president as well via i.a. the Council on Foreign Relations - also via its Jewish Wall Street bankers - and to give Israel unlimited military support - incl. intervention - in case of Israel taking to “self-defence” attack on Iran - e.g. after a false flag operation.

This means: It is entirely up to Israel to start WWIII as soon as Pres. Obama has signed into law the Bill Text 113th Congress (2013-2014) S.RES.65.ATS of the US Senate  and the U.S. House of Representatives´  defense authorization bill  - both passed - see below!

Sec. 1 (8) of the Bill Text 113th Congress (2013-2014) S.RES.65.ATS and here:If the Government of Israel is compelled to take military action in legitimate self defense against Iran’s nuclear weapons program, the United States Government should stand with Israel and provide, in accordance with United States law and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to authorize the use of military force, diplomatic, military, and economic support to the Government of Israel in its defence of its territory, people, and existence.”

Below, former NATO Supreme in Command in Europe, Wesley Clarke, declares that in 2007 he was told of a Bush gvt. ment plan to take down 7 countries within 5 years - incl. Syria and Iran.

This resolution was unanimously passed by the US Senate with 99-0 votes on 22 may 2013

But, SEC. 2. RULES OF CONSTRUCTION, says “Nothing in this resolution shall be construed as an authorization for the use of force or a declaration of war.”
Comment: The meaning of this must be: At first,  only material support in the war. However, the used US bases  would immediately be attacked by the enemy in case of war.

The HAARETZ 15 June 2013 and The Jewish Telegraph 14 June 2013: The U.S. House of Representatives passed a defense authorization bill ith a nearly similar text.

That report would identify “all aerial refueling platforms, bunker-buster munitions, and other capabilities and maintenance by Israel of a robust independent capability to remove existential security threats, including nuclear and ballistic missile facilities in Iran, and defend its vital national interests.”

The language must survive the reconciliation process with the Senate and then be signed by the president in order to become law. The entire act passed Friday in a 315-108 vote.

Who is behind this is obvious
Aipac-obamaThe Jewish Telegraph 26 Febr. 2013: The agenda of next week’s annual AIPAC policy conference in Washington will focus on the Congress enacting legislation that would …… facilitate a U.S. green light should Israel decide to strike Iran. Should the measures being considered by the Senate and the House of Representatives pass, it would constitute the most explicit congressional sanction for military action against Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons program.

Now, Pres Obama eyes the chance of making Iran a “partner“  - provided Iran gives up her nuclear bomb program.
AP-HAARETZ 17 June 2013: The U.S. State Department said Monday that while the Obama adminstration was open to new nuclear talks with Iran, it would not make any new offers as concession to its relatively moderate president-elect (totally misunderstood description of Muslim priest who is committed to the murderous Koran).

Press Release, The White House 15 June 2013: I.a.: It is our hope that the Iranian government will heed the will of the Iranian people and make responsible choices that create a better future for all Iranians.  The United States remains ready to engage the Iranian government directly in order to reach a diplomatic solution that will fully address the international community’s concerns about Iran’s nuclear program.

Stephen Lendman 17 June 2013 interprets “responsible choices” as meaning Iran´s willingness to bow to the commands of the US!

Now  will Iran´s New President, Hassan Rouhani give up Iran´s nuclear program? No - for he does not have the say - although he promises moderation of tone

The Guardian 17 June 2013: Hassan Rouhani at first news conference  said he would not support halting Iran’s uranium enrichment. He also sidestepped the issue of Iran’s close alliance with President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran’s president does not have authority to set major policies such as the direction of the nuclear programme or relations with the west. All such decisions rest with the ruling clerics and the powerful Revolutionary Guard, which have so far appeared to embrace Rouhani. He will serve as Iran’s main international envoy and is almost certain to present a different tone than his combative predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
“The first step will be showing greater transparency. “The second step is promoting mutual confidence, he said.

Rouhani´s Curriculum Vitae of is impressive

Stephen Lendman 17 June 2013 lists all the many titles of Rouhani. I.a.:  Rohani represents the Supreme Leader in the Supreme National Security Council. He’s an Expediency Discernment Council and Assembly of Experts member. He’s President of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research. He has headed Iran’s Supreme Defense Council and had many other military top leader posts. And he is a scientist. Iranians celebrated his victory .

Obama failed to congratulate Rohani. Israel’s no different. Netanyahu said: “We won’t fool ourselves, (and) the international community shouldn’t be tempted into wishful thinking and weaken the pressure on Iran regarding their nuclear program. “Iran will be tested by its deeds: If it continues with its nuclear program it must be stopped by any means possible.”
